Yet another scrapper, first post!

Hi there! Thank you for visiting my new blog 'yet another scrapper'. My name is Belinda and I have been scrapbooking for eleven years. I was first introduced to scrapbooking through my eldest sister who had just gotten into the hobbie herself and introduced myself and my other sister to it. I then was given an album kit for my 21st birthday and I enjoyed it from there on. I did have breaks here and there from it but it's something I've always done and since having my first child in 2011 I got heavily back into it wanting to scrap her precious memories. I can't even begin to tell you how many photos I've taken of my daughter, hundreds and hundreds, it became like an obsession! I didn't know when to stop, haha. I've slowed down a bit now and don't take 500 of her a month. I took the majority of photos of her in her first year of life. I guess that's the milestone year of any child. Apart from scrapbooking I also love to cross stitch and I have a blog in my blog header about that too.

I am due to have my second child in December which is very exciting and I can only imagine that my photo taking obsession will happen all over again. Maybe I will calm down a bit and not take as many since my time will certainly be limited with two littlies. Hopefully I do get time to scrapbook at some stage though.

Since spending money on scrapbooking supplies and scrapbooking magazines I get lots of inspiration from everywhere. A recent interest though is scrapbooking blogs, and I do follow quite a few now. I really enjoy seeing what people create and their particular styles. It's nice to be open to the scrapbooking world too which can be limited at times. The internet is a wonderful thing. I am yet to take part in a challenge which I notice many scrapbookers do, maybe one day.
I am yet to figure out if I have a scrapbooking style..I am not even sure if I have one. I guess I do like simple designs, and I am really into my bright/pastel colours, Girly embellishments and pretty papers. I do have two nephews though so it is nice to scrap boy pages at times. I tend to not get too busy with my layouts, and I am more of a multiple photo scrapbooker rather than sticking to one photo a page unless there is a really special focal photo I want to work on. Just recently I've been playing around with stencilling, texture paste, gesso, gelatos, stamping and mists etc...I know I probably should have been introduced to that a lot earlier since I've been scrapbooking for so long! but the world of blogs opened me up to that. I am still playing around though with these new products and I must admit some pages I've played with I've hated! and have thrown away. I guess it all takes practice though right? And finding what I am comfortable with too.

This is a photo of a page I created recently of my daughter who is two and a half. We were at the park on Father's day and she had a great time on the playground equipment.

That is another thing I will have to learn is taking good photos of my finished scrapbook pages! I am yet to perfect that art like most of the girls who's blogs I read. If anyone has any tips, I'd love to hear them!
I can't remember the exact products I used because I just created without thinking I would put it on my blog but I will be sure to take note in the future.

Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed reading my first entry, and I hope you will come along with me on my new adventure of a scrapbooking blog.

Until next time,
Happy Scrapping xo

  1. Hi Belinda, great page I love the colours you have used!

Your blog design and header is fab too!!
I'm. Not great with photos either but I find if you blutac then to the wall they are easier to get photos of and then you don't get shadows. I then just crop them on a very basic photo editor on my computer, if you don't have one Picmonkey is free you can download :)

  5. Congrats on your new blog! your layout is lovely and how adorable is that pinwheel! :) I use Picassa to edit my photos like to crop and enhance the colour - it's really easy. I'm not much good at computer stuff, but even I can work that! :) xo
